Employee Engagement – Gallup Really Knows!

Visit Gallup, the People Who Really Know

There are 1.3 billion full-time employees in the world. Give a guess: how many feel enthusiastic about and committed to their work?

1) 13%
2) 30%
3) 82%
4) How the heck could anybody know?

If you chose Answer #4, that would seem like a good answer. Er, but well, it’s not.

The Gallup organization has reviewed more than 25 million responses to their ongoing employee engagement surveys. This survey has been going on for almost two decades. Gallup has access to information from more than 160 countries in over 140 languages. According to the employee engagement surveys, only 13% of the global workforce is engaged.

Why does this matter?

According to Jim Clifton, Gallup’s Chairman and CEO, it’s the engaged workers who  “come up with most of the innovative ideas, create most of a company’s new customers, and have the most entrepreneurial energy.”

Friends, this is a great, big-as-all-the-shining-lights on Broadway Aha! Employee engagement is one of the most important – possibly the most important – factor in an organization’s success.

So, if you want true success in your organization, create an environment that engages people. Fortunately, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel: Gallup has designed a pretty good one!
